Rage Tri Final Update

6th Annual RAGE Triathlon

The time is finally here! The 6th Annual RAGE triathlon is coming up on Saturday the 18th!Here are some notes for all of you to be familiar with. PLEASE keep in mind race week is very busy for us and we may not respond to emails as quickly. Please be sure to check the website for answers to any of your questions.

We were out at the lake yesterday and it was gorgeous out there, there were plenty of athletes in the lake, on the bikes and on the run courses getting ready for the big day. It's been great fun for myself and the BBSC staff to see this race grow from 114 athletes in 2004 to nearly 800 this year. Thanks again to all of you for coming out and making this race such a success. Here is your info and we'll see you out this weekend!Packet pick up info:Club Sport from 2-8:00pm 2100 Olympic Ave. Henderson, NV 89014 Google Map.

We'll be body marking at packet pick up to help speed things up on race morning for everyone. If you do not get body marked at packet pick up, be sure to look for the volunteers in the bright orange shirts in transition to get you marked. USAT and NON USAT member instructions:
Everyone MUST show picture ID.

If you signed up as a USAT member, you MUST show your USAT card or pay the price of $10.00 for your one day USAT fee. (Check or cash only) No exceptions to this! If you signed up as a NON USAT member, you have already paid the USAT one day fee online when you registered. If you have a PENDING USAT annual membership, you MUST provide your temporary license or receipt from USAT. Otherwise, you MUST pay the extra $10.00 for the one day USAT fee. (Check or cash only)

No one can pick up your packet for you. Please do not ask. It won't happen. There is no packet pick up on race morning, please be sure to get to packet pick up as we will not have the packets at the lake on Saturday.

RELAY TEAMS: There is a separate table for you to come to when picking up your package, please go to the table marked "Relays"
All 3 of your teammates MUST come together to sign USAT and BBSC waivers.
All 3 are required to either be USAT members or pay the $10.00 per athlete USAT one day fee at packet pick up. (Check or cash only)
Please note, we will NOT release anything to your team unless all 3 teammates are present.

Clyde/Athena athletes: There is a separate table for you to come to when picking up your package, please go to the table marked "Clyde/Athena"You will be asked to get on the scales to verify your classification. If you come up under, you will be taken out of this division and will race as an age grouper.

Changes: Please verify the id label on your packet is accurate. If any info is incorrect or if you just want to change your distance, there will be change sheets available for you to write down the change you want done.
There is no charge for switching distances unless you are moving up into the 1/2. If this is the case, you must speak to the staff to take care of the payment before you will be allowed to upgrade to the 1/2.

PLEASE NOTE: The age showing on the id label is the age you will be on Dec 31, 2009. This is per the USAT age up rule. IE: if you are 24 now, you would typically race in the 20-24 age group. However, by Dec 31 you will be 25 therefore racing in the 25-29 age group. Wetsuit Info:
Remember that Las Vegas Multisport will be conducting a wetsuit demo at the pools at packet pick up from 2-5pm. This is a great time to try out a wetsuit.
IF you clicked "YES" to the question "Do you need to rent a wetsuit" when registering, you must be sure you contacted http://www.wetsuitrental.com/ to be sure you get the suit in time. ( We will not have them)

Race Day Weather: For the past week Weatherchannel.com has shown the high to be 80 degrees. Water temp should be in the low to mid 60's.

Transition area: Transition opens at 5:00AM.
Bike racks are marked with a bib sequence number plate: 1-24/28-48 etc You may pick ANY spot on that rack as long as your number falls within that sequence.
Everyone around you is you're same gender, age group and distance (this is your competition)
Exception: If you changed distances within the last 2 weeks, we did NOT reissue you a new bib number. Therefore if you changed from Olympic to Sprint, you are still going to rack with the Olympic athletes.

Please follow the instructions of the Lake Mead rangers when coming down to park in the morning.

You will receive your timing chip first thing in the morning. Volunteers will be at the top of transition with the chips. Just tell them your bib number and you're on your way.
